Dear Mr Cameron,

The pernicious and growing use of the word 'sanctions' instead of punishments is making a travesty of social justice and undermining the rule of law. The principle of the presumption of innocence is not just being undermined at every turn it is fading from the nations consciousness, thus aiding and abetting your war on the poor and their increasing vilification.

I have repeatedly stated since Blair flooded the land with CCTV cameras that in a surveillance state the watched are no longer the innocent but 'objects' of suspicion. Everyone becomes a potential criminal, subject to the constraints of being observed. The growth of sanctions is simply another step in the progression of constraint, liberty becomes conditional, freedom is reduced to mere obedience and justice is administered by whoever holds the ticket book. Thus the stage is set for private security firms, like G4S, to police the streets and administer sanctions and social justice lies in the hands of the individuals on patrol and heaven help the public if a patroller is having a bad day.

It comes as no surprise then to see Gove introducing sanctions in schools in pursuit of greater discipline. In keeping with his desire for education to go back to a system of rote learning, creativity, intelligence and even reason give way to putrid obedience. In such a dismal setting the rebel is, to anyone with a brain and a conscience, a cause for celebration. The very idea of shuffling lines of obedient children should strike horror in the hearts of parents and indignation and anger in everyone who cares that children have an innate hunger to learn and recognises that it's suppression as bestial and moronic.

Despite your twisted words that Britain is for everyone who wants to get on, the reality is anything but that. The system of sanctions exists to punish those who disobey the dictates of the few who desire to control the many. Britain is a nation betrayed and parliament has become a dictatorial monster of oppression treating ordinary people as no more than ne'er do wells who have a duty to obey those who arrogantly presume to be our political masters, or else! The truth is more prosaic, we are not yours to control and all people of good conscience are your natural enemies.
