'Wave of sex scandals flooding the UK politics'

Recent investigations have revealed the shocking scale of sexual abuse by Jimmy Savile, a former TV presenter at the BBC (the British Broadcasting Corporation), who is accused of at least 214 crimes spanning from1955 to 2009. Savile abused children while working at the BBC between 1965 right up to 2006. Most of the victims were aged between 13 and 16. A six-week inquiry carried out by former Sky News executive Nick Pollard, said the BBC's management system "proved completely incapable of dealing" with the Savile abuse scandal when it was exposed, describing the case as "one of the worst management crises in the BBC's history". The Newsnight investigation into the revelations of child sex abuse by Savile was abandoned in December 2011. The corporation found itself surrounded by a crisis after an ITV Exposure Savile documentary was broadcasted in October 2012.
